Cage Requirements

Don't have a crate suitable? No problems! We can supply those.

To fly your animals with Air New Zealand we must adhere to strict IATA regulations. We'll discuss suitable options at the time of booking — below are some examples of acceptable travel crates.

Carrier must meet the following requirements:

  1. Adequate ventilation on the upper section
  2. Top and bottom fixed together — tightened bolt and screw at each corner (min. 1 fixing on sides under 60cm; min. 2 if over 60cm)
  3. Space bar fitted on three sides
  4. Leak-proof floor
  5. Locking pins must extend a minimum of 1.6cm into the top and bottom lips
  6. Water container provided
